These programs are taught through online-distance learning (ODL). Mogadishu University began ODL programs in 2006 and currently there are two basic programs:
Diploma Program in Financial Planning
This program is funded by World Bank and United Nation Development Program (UNDP) - Somalia and implemented by the Consortium of Institute of Management CL (UK), University of Fort Harare, South Africa and Mogadishu University . The project was launched in august 2006. It is one year diploma program. The capacity building for Somali Planers project aims to develop the capacity of financial planners as a means of fostering economic growth in Somalia .
This program consists of two levels: First level is preparatory courses and is taught by the lectures and tutors of Mogadishu University while the main courses are taught through ODL.

CISCO Networking Academy Program
This program is developed by CISCO Networking Academy (NetAcad) and Mogadishu University became a partner with CISCO in August 2006. The program was launched at MU in October 2006. This program is worldwide networking program in 150 countries where more than 1.6 million students are enrolled in 10,000 learning centers. It is a comprehensive e-learning program which provides students with the Internet technology skills essential in the global economy.Following are the courses in this program:
