Mogadishu University is ranked
among
the Top 100 African Universities
In a short period of its life, Mogadishu University takes
brilliant steps to the Top Ranks of World Universities and
it achieves great accomplishments in different fields.

Last week, an international evaluation of world universities
by World
Universities Ranking on the Web revealed the Top 100
universities in every continent. Mogadishu University was
ranked among the Top 100 African universities and placed 79th
in Africa preceding well-known old universities in academic
institutions in the continent.
The Methodologies Adopted in the Ranking of World Universities:
- Universities' research out.
- Quality of graduates and the stages of their knowledge.
- Facilities provided by the universities in their fields
of work.
- Their contributions to the modern knowledge.
- The extent of their technological access.
- The presence of the universities on the World Wide Web
and their use of the Information Technology.
- Studies and materials published on their sites as well
as the number of in-link visits.
- The performance and clarity of their messages as institution
on the web.
After considering the above criteria, Mogadishu University
precedes 221 in Africa, since there are more than 300 universities
in the continent. In East Africa (Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea,
Kenya, Tanzania, Djibouti and Uganda) there are about 40 universities
and Mogadishu University (MU) was ranked as 7th university
in the region, So MU leads 33 universities in East Africa.
It is better to mention that the universities of 20 states
in African were not listed in the Top 100 African Universities
in this academic competition; similarly MU was ranked 6901
internationally.

MU has a positive relation
with African Universities
Disregard the rank of MU among world universities, the secret
and importance of the news is the appearance of MU in the
international square with this high rank bearing in mind the
existing conditions in Somalia, some academicians were surprised
by precedence of MU on a large number of world and African
universities considering the current circumstances in Somalia
and its short period of existence, since MU started its first
class work in the academic year 1997/1998.

It is worth to note that it is not first time which MU is
evaluated internationally, in the year 2003 a high committee
from the Association of Arab Universities did a comprehensive
evaluation. After this evaluation MU succeeded immediately
to become a full member in the Association
of Arab Universities (AARU).

In addition to that, MU is a member in the executive council
of the Federation
of the Universities of Islamic World (FUWI), similarly
MU is a member of the Association
of Arab Private Institutions for Higher Education (AAPIHE)
and also member of Islamic Universities League. The university
participate the official meetings of the above institutions
effectively paying determined effort to elevate the importance
of academic linkage among world communities.

This success which Mogadishu University realized within the
current situation in Somalia is first from Allah, then from
the efforts of MU staff and their professional attitudes which
show the strengthens of their will and intention.
Despite the disastrous civil war in Somalia, this success
demonstrates that Somalia is able to keep its position among
world societies, and it is a great honor for MU and all Somalis
around the world.
In this occasion, MU administration and academic staffs,
students and all employees are forwarding their warm congratulations
to all Somali individuals, friends and colleagues of MU around
the world for their participation in building this academic
edifice, also we are sending our sincere thanks to all those
donated their lives and stand aside to succeed MU's projects
to reach this remarkable position which is an honor for MU
and its friends.
