The Registration and Admission Activities Going on at MU Branch in Puntland State

The registering and admission of the first Batch of the students are effectively going on at center of the MU Branch in Bosaso, the faculty of Sharea & Law with the section of sharia and law, Education with the sections of Social Science, math and physics, and Faculty of Economics & Mgt Science with the sections of Economics, Business administration, Accounting and Public administration are currently operating in the branch in the academic year 2008/2009.

This is the first branch for the University in outside of the capital which its inauguration ceremony was held in Bosaso on August 4, 2008 while the registration processes have began in September 10, 2008. The branch has welcomed with high moral by the students, parents and the community of the region.  

MU Branch in Puntland Organized a Seminar for the Secondary School Graduates

Mogadishu University branch in Puntland state implemented a three day workshop for 450 graduates and students in secondary schools in the region which was hold in activities hall of Bosaso Local Government. The Participants were very interested to workshop which was discussed the higher education system in the country as well as the easiest way of obtaining a higher education. The objective of this seminar is to encourage the young generation and the Somali students to continue their education, and to t give them superior comprehensions about the existing opportunities of higher education offered by Mogadishu University and the appropriate way of choosing the specialization, finally how Somali intellectuals can participate in the rebuilding of their country.

The subjects presented in the workshop have attracted the all participants with gaining knowledge and recommendations.

It is good to mention MU has cooperated with youth organization PEEDO (peace & education development organization) in the implementation of the workshop.

Closing Ceremony of the Secondary Graduates Workshop

Mogadishu University in collaboration with peace & education development organization (PEEDO) has organized a closing ceremony of the three day workshop to the secondary graduate students. Parents, Intellectuals, Civil society organizations, Business companies and other major figures in the region were invited to this well organized ceremony.

The mayor of Bosaso, governor of Bari region and other famous individuals from various institutions gave a speech in the ceremony; they appreciate the remarkable step of progress which is bringing MU and other higher education institutions in the state hoping from MU branch that it will offer impressive contribution to the community of region with knowledge and development.
