Delegation from Mogadishu University Meets with Somali Diaspora in Scandinavia

Abdurahman Moallim Abdullahi and Yahya Amir, two professors from Mogadishu University participated in a well organized ceremony held by Somali Community in Norway.

The delegates briefed the current situation in Somalia as a whole and Mogadishu University in particular, reminding how MU was came into being in a turbulent period of instability, when the notion of establishment a university was completely against all conventional wisdoms. The delegation encouraged the participants to be actively engaged in the reconstruction and rebuilding their home country stressing that the Somali Diaspora can positively contribute to the country when they collectively share a noble goal.

The Somali community in Norway expressed their gratitude and thanks to the delegates of Mogadishu University , indicating the indispensable role played by the university in (education sector) spreading knowledge and science in the absence of effective central government in Somalia.

Finally, they agreed to strengthen the relationship between Somali scholars in Diaspora and Mogadishu University.
