Inauguration of Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program

On Thursday December 14, 2006, Mogadishu University organized opening ceremony of Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offered by Open University Malaysia. The ceremony participated by MU president, deputy of academic affairs, and number of faculty deans in addition to business institution representatives, civil society and large number of MU graduates.

The ceremony program composed of different agendas started with Holly Kuran verses. Dean of Computer Science & Information Technology presented brief presentation of the MBA program objective, its specializations, importance of this program in Somalia and its role of preparing well-specialized people in MBA which through it is planned to take key role in country construction. There also was a speech of the dean of the Faculty of Economics & Management Science who concentrated on the importance of the program which he sees the program specializations are the development fundaments of public and private sectors, and expects for Somalis to take Malaysia way of economic and technology development.

MU president Dr. Ali Sheikh Ahmed Abubakur presented welcoming speech and pointed out the role of Arab Open University (AOU) branch of Kingdom of Bahrain and Open University Malaysia (OUM) have in the success of this program which opens new corner in the continuation of post-graduate studies in the horn of Africa. The president told that Open University in this time is one of the fastest ways of study and training through the world.

This program, developing post graduate in Somalia, comes under the effort of the university and enables the occasion that the graduates get different post graduate specializations in the best quality international universities with out traveling to abroad.
