Relief to the Flood Victims


Extreme flood crises affected wide land of six regions including Middle Shabelle that Shabelle River inundated for the terminal rain, which was continuing two weeks. This tragedy displaced several agricultural and pastoral people and destroyed wide range of farm land that was nearly to be harvested.

Actually Somali society played key role in the urgent relief and participated by all the, such as business agencies, relief organizations, educational institutions, social, broadcasting and Somalis in the Diaspora.

Mogadishu University moved in the forefront of this urgent relief campaign to effected regions such as Middle Shabelle in Bal'ad side and distributed food materials, medicines and other necessary materials to the victims, which is all contributed by the university family including lecturers, students, administration, and alumni.
