New Students Welcomed

Student affair's office had organized a cultural week on the (7-12) September for more than 500 new Students enrolled the university in the academic year 2004-2005. The main purpose of this program was to welcome new students and raise their awareness on varieties of topics and issues. In the opening statement, president of MU Dr. Ali Sheikh had welcomed students and encouraged them to take their education very seriously. MU, the president stated "represents the hope, the will and achievements of the people of Somalia during the civil-war". The program of the week included introducing of the different faculties, documentary films on the historical activities of the students; international conferences participated by the MU, lectures, discussions, cultural manifestations and so.

Students also have visited the main campus of the university under construction and inter-acted with the engineers. In the concluding remarks of the cultural week, Vice-president for academic affairs Dr. Ali Hassan emphasized "the need for new culture based on good manners and responsibility" and wished well all the students.
