Mogadishu University Participates The UN Fourth African Development
Forum (ADF-IV)

This conference was the fourth of its kind organized by the
UN Economic commission for Africa (UN-ECA) based in Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia. The close organizing collaborators with UN-ECA
were the African Development Bank (ADB) and the commission
of the African Union (AU). The main theme of this ADF IV was
"Governance for a progressing Africa". Good governance
was seen as the key to a more viable, sustainable and more
promising future for Africa. This conference duration was
October 11-15th.
The UN-ECA management officially invited Hussein Moalim Iman
of the Mogadishu University to take part in this important
conference where African development agenda was thoroughly
discussed. An important project on "measuring and monitoring
progress towards Good Governance in Africa" was addressed
in the conference. This African Governance Report (AGR) covered
the empirical findings on 28 African countries.
Also other regional conferences such as the seventh regional
conference on Beijing+10 was covered in parallel to this ADF
IV Forum, and One-Day Youth symposium organized in collaboration
with UNICEF.
